Good Grief: Bad Endings – Fable II
0 CommentsPosted by Eric Bouchard on June 28, 2010 under Features, Xbox 360 Features
Anyone who looks at my top games of all time will see Fable II sits rather prominently on that list. When I did my "30 Reviews in 30 Days," I had mentioned I might even consider it my favorite game of all time, though it may have been supplanted by Mass Effect 2. While the game was almost unanimously praised by critics, there was one part of it many felt was a let down: the ending. So just what... more. -

1 CommentsPosted by Patrick Adams on June 13, 2010 under E3, Features, Handheld Features, PC Features, PS3 Features, Wii Features, Xbox 360 Features, iPhone/Mobile Features
Everyday Gamers will be at E3 this year and we've been invited to the Sony and Nintendo Press Conferences. Our very own Eric Bouchard will be live-blogging those two conferences as they happen, so feel free to watch a live stream of the conferences on a website such as IGN, but keep our live blogs open for some great discussion while the conferences are happening. We will be using CoverItLive for ... more. -
The Summer Of PC Gaming : 2010
0 CommentsPosted by Chris Maeurer on June 9, 2010 under Features, PC Features
Summer is almost here. Tanning on the beach, soft sand, foamy ocean waves....well, unless you are on the Gulf Coast. Pool parties, Bar-B-Q's, catching fireflies and roasting marshmallows. Excited? Me either, all that stuff makes me shudder--jellyfish stings, sunburn, sand in crevices, vacuuming the pool, chlorine stinging your eyes, who needs it? Thank goodness we can fire up our PC'... more. -
A Portal Into the Starcraft II Beta
4 CommentsPosted by Chris Maeurer on June 8, 2010 under Features, PC Features
The biggest RTS in the making, Starcraft II : Wings Of Liberty, will touch down on PC's this July 27th, and we were lucky enough to get some playtime in the beta. Have you jumped in yet? Can you still Zerg rush? How is Battle.Net 2.o? Are there any new features, or is this just a prettier same old ball of Zerg wax? We'll try to answer all your questions in our hands-on review of the Starcr... more. -
Patrick’s 10 Must-Have iPad Launch Apps
0 CommentsPosted by Patrick Adams on June 7, 2010 under Features, Handheld Features, PC Features, iPhone/Mobile Features
This early in the iPad's life it's hard to find any apps worth your while. I've come up with a list of ten iPad apps that I find to be real winners and I thought it would be a good idea to share them you with you. You know the best thing about it? They are all free. 10. Goby - Goby is a great app to find things going on locally. It takes your current location and shows you activities and places... more. -
BLUR
1 CommentsPosted by Kevin Clark on under PC Reviews, PS3 Reviews, Reviews, Xbox 360 Reviews
Bizarre Creations has been hard at work at trying to recreate the popular "Power-up" gameplay in there latest project BLUR. While many comparisons ring true about Mario Kart, BLUR isn't just a quick knock off but instead a much deeper experience in certain areas. BLUR's environments screams chaos, and if you didn't know by now the name of the game is to strike your opponents with as many power... more. -
Red Dead Redemption
0 CommentsPosted by David Lange on June 4, 2010 under PS3 Reviews, Reviews, Xbox 360 Reviews
I had never really played a Western video game prior to Red Dead Redemption, partially because of their infrequency and partially because I lacked the interest in a genre that seemed like it wouldn't hold up as well as the familiar sci-fi and post apocalyptia that dominated the landscape. Compared with the creativity of weapons and enemies afforded by genres spawned exclusively by the artist... more. -
Split Second

As I have mentioned before, I am not a huge racing game fan. While there have been some games that have really caught my attention, I do not tend to anticipate them or even consider buying them on their release date. I did not even buy Burnout Paradise when it came out, and I was a huge fan of the previous game in the series. Why am I starting this review this way? I wanted you to understand ju... more. -
ModNation Racers
0 CommentsPosted by Patrick Adams on June 1, 2010 under PS3 Reviews, Reviews
I've been looking forward to ModNation Racers ever since it was announced at E3. Originally I thought it was supposed to be a PSN downloadable title but I guess I was wrong. ModNation Racers is basically Mario Kart on the PS3 but with loads of customization. You can customize your characters, your karts, and also build tracks. The options while creating are endless too. As you probably would have ... more. -
Majesty 2
0 CommentsPosted by Chris Maeurer on May 28, 2010 under PC Reviews, Reviews
Tired of the same old base building RTS mechanics? Majesty 2 resurrects an old classic and blows RTS trends out of the water with a great fantasy setting and an interesting twist on the genre. Our review is apologetically, long overdue, but we get down and dirty in Ardania to defend the throne. The Story Majesty 2 unfolds half a century later than the original. The lands have been unit... more. -
Force Unleashed : Sith Edition
0 CommentsPosted by Chris Maeurer on under PC Reviews, Reviews
Lucasarts takes force manipulation to blistering new heights in this game meant to bridge the gap between trilogies and reveal a secret apprentice of Darth Vader. Ok, so Force Unleashed force jumped onto consoles long ago, but the much awaited PC port, with all the DLC splashed down last holiday season, and we will see if it does the platform justice, or should be tossed in the Sarlacc pit. The... more. -

EA’s Online Pass. A Line In The Sand.
0 CommentsPosted by Jordan de Boer on May 18, 2010 under Features, PS3 Features, Xbox 360 Features
When I first heard of EA's "Project Ten Dollar", I was a little skeptical. Some time has passed since it's inception, and given the mediocrity of day one DLC and pre-order bonuses, I've been less then satisfied with the fruits of the "Project Ten Dollar" tree. It's completely understandable why a consumer would want to save money by purchasing products used, but at the same time it's understandabl... more. -
Fat Princess: Fistful of Cake
0 CommentsPosted by Patrick Adams on May 17, 2010 under Handheld Reviews, Reviews
Fat Princess was a silent hit on the PS3. It took a "cutesy" art-style and it added some blood and it became a slightly mature multiplayer title. Fat Princess was a PSN title priced at $15.00. I was pretty excited for Fat Princess as it had a really cool multiplayer aspect that we've never seen before. The main mode is to capture the princess, this is a lot like capture the flag but there is a t... more. -
Can Gaming Become an Addiction? A Gamer’s Story
0 CommentsPosted by Eric Bouchard on May 13, 2010 under Features, Handheld Features, PC Features, PS3 Features, Wii Features, Xbox 360 Features
There is a debate raging in the gaming community right now. Everywhere you look, gamers and those who do not play are arguing over whether or not there is such a thing as gaming addiction. The studies are inconclusive; every time you hear about a study backing the existence of video game addiction, you find numerous stories debunking it. Even gamers seem to be split on the issue; while many want t... more. -
“MY CONSOLE IS THE BEST!” How Fanboys Are Hurting Gamers
5 CommentsPosted by Eric Bouchard on May 4, 2010 under Features, PS3 Features, Xbox 360 Features
We've all been there. You are having an honest conversation with someone about the strengths of the various consoles. Maybe a friend has come to you for advice on which would be best for them, or you and your coworkers are talking about what you like and do not like about that. Suddenly someone steps up and says something that just makes you cringe. "Yeah, but you don't want to own a 360. Every... more. -
Splinter Cell: Conviction
0 CommentsPosted by Jordan de Boer on May 1, 2010 under PC Reviews, Reviews, Xbox 360 Reviews
Sam Fisher is finally back in the saddle. He has cut his emo hair and thrown his night vision goggles aside. You're hunting people that need to be hunted and taking out anyone who stands in your way, no messing around. It's out with the old and in with the new, gameplay that is. It's Splinter Cell on steroids. It's shoot first and neck snap later. You might still crawl on the pipes and shoot out s... more. -
Split/Second Demo

Pure: the racing game that made people take Blackrock Studios, and by proxy Disney Interactive Studios, seriously. You remember the game, right? Racing on quads, doing stunts to gain points and boost.... Pure put Balckrock on the map and made many people's list of overlooked games in 2008. Well, Blackrock and Disney are back. This time, though, its not about doing tricks; it's about taking your... more. -
Uncharted 2: Siege Expansion Pack
0 CommentsPosted by Kevin Clark on April 29, 2010 under PS3 Reviews, Reviews
Last year Uncharted 2 was on a lot of people's Game Of The Year list, and rightfully so. The game is obviously more well known for its amazing cinematic single player and Indiana Jones like story telling. But the Multiplayer surprised a lot of people that were uncertain that it could work, and Naughty Dog has done a great job supporting the online with quality DLC. The Siege expansion pack ... more. -
Abducted By X-Com : A Fanatic’s Blog
0 CommentsPosted by Chris Maeurer on April 20, 2010 under Features, PC Features
On April 14th, the gaming community was shocked when two Official Xbox Magazine covers showed up revealing 2K Marin's new project-a revival of a 17 year old PC strategy game that graces every 'Top Games of All Time' list - X-Com : Ufo Defense. Apparently, losing the hyphen, was not the only change the game has undergone. The blogs and forums of every gaming community lit up like the Rockefelle... more.
