The cut scenes I'm referring to are the ones during VATS. The original Fallout's had a "fast battle mode" option, so you wouldn't spend all your time watching characters move, or become dismembered. There was also a profanity filter and a non-violent mode. The fact that you could become a porn star, pick up condoms and blow up dolls, and fornicate with a lot of people negated the good intentions though.

1. I thought there were no cut scenes?
2. I agree with the gore being off, it gets annoying.

The game was beautiful, but there are some minor things I'd change had I developed it.

1) Fast mode for cut scenes
2) No Gore mode
3) Break the cycle and make Dogmeat less of a pushover
4) Stop using voice acting! That was money that could've been spent on someone who can write interesting dialogue.

Nice job on the review man. I have to say though, I disagree with your assessment of the dungeons as cut and past affairs. I thought they where nicely varied. The underground raider HQ, the elementary school, and Nuka-Cola Factory all have unique and interesting interiors. There a naturally doors and objects reused but every game does that. Nothing compared to the near identical interiors of Mass Effect's side quests. I think my biggest complaint about them is the, logical but frustrating, lack of lighting and occasionally confusing layouts.
