Split/Second Wrecks The PSP This Holiday

Love Split/Second so much that you wish you could carry it with you all the time? Well good news as Black Rock studios has decided to put the crazed racer onto the PSP this holiday season.  No word on the game being an exact port from the PC and console versions but one thing is for sure is that it will not support online multiplayer, but will in fact support 4 player ad/hoc play.

We will keep a close eye on more information on the PSP version of the game when more details are revealed.

Battlefield Bad Company Gets Map Pack 4 Today

The fourth map pack is available today for Battlefield Bad Company 2 and is once again free to all VIP members.  The PC will get the map pack as a patch later today.

There aren’t any new maps so to speak, but Atacama Desert can now be played on the Rush game mode, while the Port Valdez map can be played on Conquest.

It’s nice to see DICE is still supporting Battlefield Bad Company 2 even if they haven’t put out any new maps yet.  But expect that to change when the Vietnam expansion hits later this year.

Bad Sales=No Alpha Protocol Sequel

In today’s world with the Metacritics and hundreds of sites reviewing your game, it can add a good amount of pressure to the developers.  Considering Alpha Protocols poor sales, Sega West president Mike Hayes says no sequel will be made.

Let’s speak very commercially; the game hasn’t sold what we’ve expected, therefore we won’t be doing a sequel.  You know this whole thing with Metacritic where you have to be in the high 70s to mid-80s minimum [to have any success] — well, with RPGs you have got to be in the late 80s. Whilst we had a good game, I don’t think we had a game that had enough to get us to that upper echelon and I think that was the issue.”

Hayes still believes that the game was “brilliant” but unfortunately game sales were way down to warrant a sequel.
