Just because EPIC are pushing Gears of War 3 back until late 2011, doesn’t mean you have to wait until then to play it. An open beta has been announced for sometime in early 2011, yet no other specifics have been revealed. One of the great things that will be coming to the next installment in the trilogy will be dedicated servers that EPIC claims will make for a much more balanced gameplay. Gears fans know too well of the dreadful “host advantage” that killed a lot of the competitiveness in the first two titles.
Player feedback will be a big resource of making Gears of War 3 the best it can be. With the added five months of development time, the team now has even more time to fine tune everything and squash the bugs before the game is released in 2011. Which will hopefully make for a more smoother release than Gears of War 2 had.
