A while back, I had asked Robert Payne, avid listener to the podcast and guest host on Push Play, to create a theme for the Everyday Gamers Podcast. While I expected him to create a great theme, what he created blew me away, and I have listened to it on its own more times than I can count.
And now, you can as well. Robert is releasing the EDG Podcast Theme on iTunes, Amazon MP3 and Google Play. For a small fee (can’t release it for free), you can get your own copy of the theme. More importantly, you can help out Jay Sims and his family.
Followers of Jay on Twitter and podcast listeners more than likely know by now that Jay and his wife have just been through an unexpected and difficult delivery of twins. The good news is both boys were delivered, albeit as early as possible in the pregnancy. Things are still touch and go, with both boys in the NICU getting treatment to help lungs develop. The family would appreciate your prayers and thoughts/support.
As you can imagine, the difficulties surrounding this pregnancy have left Jay and his family in a bot of a financial crunch. The great news is many of you in the gaming community have stepped up and said you would be willing to help out. If you would like to help as well, please let Chris know at email@example.com.
We understand this is a difficult time to ask for monetary support. Many of you have bills of your own, not to mention all the other expenses which tend to crop up this time of year. With that in mind, we have come up with a way you can help out without having to spend much if any money. All proceeds from the sale of the Everyday Gamers Podcast theme, about 70% of every purchase, will go to Jay and his family. That’s right. Robert has agreed to send all proceeds to support Jay and his family, and we are very grateful for his willingness to do just that.
70% per copy sold may not sound like much, but it can add up quickly. We currently have around 100 subscribers to the podcast if you include those of you who listen on Stitcher and other places. If all of our subscribers and listeners were to buy the theme, the Sims would receive about $70. If each of us could get 5 more people to buy it, that would mean over $400 to help support them. Even if we cannot, every little bit helps, and I know Jay and his family will be blessed by whatever we can raise.
So we here at Everyday Gamers are asking you to consider buying the podcast theme from iTunes. You not only get a copy of a really good song, but you help a family which is near and dear to us here at Everyday Gamers and many other communities thanks to Jay’s ability to reach out to others. If you cannot afford to purchase the theme or don’t really want a copy of the song, please pass the information on to others you think may be interested. It would mean a lot to Jay’s family and to us, the Everyday Gamers staff.
