Tony Hawk: Ride Sales Are Dissappointing
0 CommentsPosted by Laren Hawkins on December 17, 2009 under PS3 News, Xbox 360 News
So, apparently the sales for Tony Hawk: Ride aren't exactly booming. So the question is why. Lets ponder for a moment shall we? I don't think it would anything to do with the fact that we need MORE "wireless" accessories piling up. It couldn't be because the Tony Hawk franchise lost its allure 50 games ago. Now, sarcasm aside, I have played the old skool Tony Hawk games. They were inventive, fun... more. -

Starting next year, Gamestop is going to cater to DLC lovers. How you may ask, they are going to sell DLC... IN THEIR STORES. Sony Wants To Make You Laugh
0 CommentsPosted by Laren Hawkins on August 16, 2009 under PS3 News
Apparently, Sony filed a patent for " Laugh Detection". Okay, you can stop laughing now, it is actually pretty interesting. Essentially, they want the PSEye to detect body gestures in concurrence with laughter to detect your mood. Sounds to me like Sony is trying to play keep up with Microsoft. Personally, I am sensing some patent disputes in the future. I do think that it would be impressive ... more.

We recently found out about the passing of EGM. Now, we have another casualty. PSW is now no more. So what is up with the decline of Gaming mags? One word. Internet. Think about it, why would read through a mag only reading the three or four articles you care about. Also, with getting it online, take this site for example, the often update daily and on the latest. I know I have found myself not re... more.

I recently wrote about how Best Buy was matching Gamestop's prices. Well, it seems that Gamestop is paying attention. In that post I said that Gamestop could make their used games prices lower. Well, they did just that. I am not trying to gloat, I am saying that this is exactly what needs to happen. Gamestop is finally starting to realize that they need to change their ways. Why Video Games Are More Than Just Entertainment
3 CommentsPosted by Laren Hawkins on August 12, 2009 under Handheld News, PC News, PS3 News, Retro News, Wii News, Xbox 360 News, iPhone/Mobile News
With all these rumors and talks about Video Games becoming movies, it produces a lot of hype and excitement. As a gamer however, I have a different outlook on it. The Story I have found that some of the best stories are not found in books or movies, but rather Video Games. The fact that you are essentially the character, only adds to the story. With games like Fallout 3, the player makes the... more.

Another Guitar Hero?
2 CommentsPosted by Laren Hawkins on under PC News, PS3 News, Wii News, Xbox 360 News
I recently read a posting on how Sony is giving away Guitar Hero: Van Halen for free . Let me explain before I continue. Basically, you buy Guitar Hero 5 and get the Van Halen edition theme for "free". In all reality though, you still have to pay for something. This is still a good deal considering how many editions of Guitar Hero that are put out each year. Maybe Sony is realizing that people don... more.

Why Gamestop is Looking Sad
3 CommentsPosted by Laren Hawkins on August 8, 2009 under Handheld News, PC News, PS3 News, Wii News, Xbox 360 News
When I first heard that Best Buy was to start testing out kiosks that allow you to trade-in DVD's, games etc., I was ecstatic. I thought of the potential and the fact that we may soon have a better option then Gamestop. Basically the way the kiosks work is, you take games and then the kiosk determines how much credit you get. It then gives you a gift card which you can use in their store. I am ver... more.

Okay, I'm not one who really likes crank calls in general, but this one is worth checking out. Callers to the show share all sorts of conspiracy theories, so this call would not have been out of place. That explains why Noory never suspects a thing when he receives a call from G... more.
